If there’s a better way of selling this car than explaining that it’s a BMW Estate with lower running costs, then Big Motoring World need to hear it.

The latest BMW 3 Series Touring 320d is an upgrade on the last model, with a new engine, better transmission and uprated suspension.

The ED version is even better, with aerodynamics, 16 inch alloys and an ‘Eco Pro’ mode which makes the steering much easier and smooth.

Fuel consumption is the main win with this car, as its substantial benefits are noticeable immediately once you drive the car. It gives 70.6mpg for the combined cycle, along with 104g/km of CO2.

The automatic gearbox helps the engine to be quick, slick and fast on the acceleration. Whilst there’s slightly less power than in the previous model, this is covered by the smooth transition and the feel of gliding along the road.

The 3 Series Touring is spacious inside, with plenty of space in the boot and ample space for four adults to be comfortable in the seats. The rear window also lifts so you can put things into the boot from outside, which is a smooth touch to the design.

Prices start from £33,000 and this model is a good buy. Not only can it hit 60mph from a standing start in 8.1 seconds and hit a top speed of 138mph, but the efficiency is also a key selling point for this vehicle. It’s a blend of modern technology and classic BMW core values.
