The Mercedes-AMG C63 S Saloon is receiving praise for its design and performance. Big Motoring World reviews the latest Merc saloon.

This car has 510hp under the bonnet, does 0-62mph in four seconds and has been electronically limited to a maximum speed of 155mph. But that’s not all, it’s also pleasing on the eye with typical Mercedes sophistication.

The new petrol engine is a 4.0-litre V8, whilst there are four driving modes available; comfort, sport, sport+ and race.

Any AMG Mercedes generally implies a supercar with high performance and design. This one is slightly wider than a standard C-Class, with a chrome outline and elegant grille, along with the Mercedes badge proudly displayed on the front.

At the rear, a subtle boot spoiler and new rear bumper are accompanied by the quad tailpipes which produce the beautiful sound of the powerful engine.

Any Mercedes tends to be timeless and elegant, and of course this model is no different. Black leather sweeps through the interior with high-gloss black and contrasting grey through the theme. There’s a feeling of an elite driving experience, and there’s plenty of space for four adults.

Perhaps the main feature for this model is the AMG high-performance brake system which really makes a difference. Attention assist is also useful if you’re planning a long drive, and there’s also collision prevention assist plus, an active bonnet, an adaptive brake system, speed tronic cruise control and tyre pressure monitoring which all make the car feel incredibly safe.

There are optional add-ons, but the standard model includes DAB radio, internet access, Mercedes-Benz apps and Bluetooth. It really is luxury in motion.
